This means, we expect to see elouai dolls in the photographs you guys submit. However, we're also open to seeing people experience with new editing methods. Below are just a few simple guidelines to follow to ensure you won't get penalized.
PIXELS.[/color]
Using pixels in your photograph is recommended, but not mandatory. You will NOT be deducted for not using them from the judges, however more conservative editors may not vote for you.
PROPORTIONS.
Regarding the size of your dolls, we ask one thing. KEEP IT IN SCALE WITH HER HEIGHT. If your model is 6'1, make her taller than the standard elouai proportions. You will get deducted in judging for proportions in two ways: if they're overly realistic [head too small, legs too thick] or if it's way too doll-like [head overly large, tiny limbs]. We ask for a balance.
HAIR.
In this competition we give props to risk takers, so if you know how to edit hair - show us! Elouai hairstyles can become overused, so if you know how to draw strands or even a completely new style, do it. It will only benefit you when it comes to judging - we don't bash people for having a go at something out of the box. Another great way to change up hairstyles is to simply flip your photograph. You'd be amazed at how different it looks!
CLOTHING.
We'll be completely happy if you draw pixels on your clothing, or if you leave it smooth. Either way is completely fine.
